Lindsay Skedgell is a documentary photographer and filmmaker who seeks to challenge the stereotypes and assumptions placed on various individuals, subcultures, and groups through emphasis of personal experience and perspective. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Purchase College, where she learned how to fuse written ethnographic work with visual documentation. She is a firm believer in placing the self in various roles.
Previous projects include working with nonprofit organizations such as the Learning About Multimedia Project, Right 2 Dream Too, and The Heliotrope Foundation. She has had films screened throughout New York City, the most recent screening at The Margaret Mead Film Festival. Lindsay currently works as a filmmaker for BRIC Arts Media and is a media educator for the Learning About Multimedia Project.
